Color of the Week: WHITE

by Designgal on December 21st, 2011 at 7:39 AM
Posted In: Color, White

White is the absence of color, it works with any color scheme and is the color most commonly used in design.

Color of the Week: BLACK

by Designgal on December 19th, 2011 at 7:36 AM

I kind of got distracted from my Color of the Week posts, so I’m going to quickly give you the last 2: black and white.  I’m hoping to get a post about each in too.

Cat Boss

by Designgal on December 16th, 2011 at 8:32 AM

I guess this cat sits where ever she wants whether there is anyone or any dog already there or not.  I’m out of town visiting my family before the move and I sure am homesick for my silly pets and husband.  But I’m also having fun and looking forward to being with my family and friends.

Bedtime

There is nothing better (well maybe a few things) than falling into a bed you love at night!  We have an amazing mattress that hugs you and gives you sweet dreams but our bed frame does not do the same thing for me.  So I decided with all the moving and changes it was time for our bed to get a change too.  While we were house hunting in Florida we stopped at this random furniture store and I found a bed frame I wanted.  I don’t have the exact company we ordered from so these pictures are just close versions I found on Restoration Hardware’s website.  Here were our 3 options:Option #1- I’ve wanted an upholstered bed for quite sometime, I loved the curve in the headboard but Kolbe didn’t like it so much, and I agree it is more feminine.

Option #2- I like this headboard because it has a slight curve and I love how the sides extend out.  One thing I don’t love is that there are no nailheads on the top of the bed.  Which brings us to….

Option #3-  Square and simple, and of course the one a guy would approve of the most :)   This is the one we chose!  I figured I have enough accessories and artwork to balance out the strong square lines that this one would make the most sense.  Since this isn’t the exact bed, ours will have 2 rows of nailheads whereas this one only has one row around the headboard.  I customized the headboard and chose a creamy linen fabric and a mat bronze nailhead, they didn’t have a mat silver or pewter.  I think the contrast will be awesome and the darker bronze will stand out against the linen nicely.  Once we get it in the house I’ll show you how good it looks, I can’t wait!

Holiday Centerpieces

by Designgal on December 13th, 2011 at 8:16 AM

Spice up your table with holiday table centerpieces.  You can go simple or all out, but be festive!  I’m not usually a fan of golds but combined with white lights and creams it is simply lovely.

I love the winter wonderland, and the snow. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
