affairwithcolor.com http://affairwithcolor.com Thu, 17 May 2012 16:44:44 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3 Time Flies, Where Has The Last 3 Months Gone? http://affairwithcolor.com/time-flies-where-has-the-last-3-months-gone/ http://affairwithcolor.com/time-flies-where-has-the-last-3-months-gone/#comments Thu, 17 May 2012 16:44:44 +0000 Designgal http://affairwithcolor.com/?p=3291 ↓ Read the rest of this entry...]]> Felicity is almost 3 months old!  These are her 2 month pictures, I can’t believe how fast the time as flown by.  A good friend of mine said give yourself 6 weeks to be able to start enjoying life.  She didn’t mean that I wouldn’t enjoy being a mom but that your schedule and your life revolve on a 2 hour schedule: sleep, feed, play a little and back to sleep.  Felicity is 12 weeks and I am getting a better handle on this mom stuff little by little.  I’m loving it actually!  She is getting a little more independent and can entertain herself a little which means I can get things done- mostly this consists of doing her laundry, cleaning and cooking!  Lately though I am finding time to get a little project or two in during the day.  I have started making homemade bread- grinding the wheat myself even and getting a few sewing projects completed (I’ll post my favorite in a day or so).  Here are some highlights of the last month:

  • We are on a 2 hour feeding schedule :)   I’m basically a milk machine
  • She smiles and talks
  • She loves sticking out her talk and laughs when we stick out ours
  • Cooing and giggling
  • She discovered her tongue, and she thinks our tongues are pretty funny when we stick them out at her
  • At 5 weeks she started sleeping through the night!  I know, I’m a lucky mom
  • She enjoys our morning walks, she loves to see what is going on
  • She loves her daddy, and he is so cute with her
  • Love putting her in cute clothes
  • She has discovered her juggle gym- you know the floor mat with cross bars and toys dangling.  I love listening to her hit the rattle one and laugh at herself.
  • Yesterday she rolled from her belly to her back, I think it was accidental but I can see the mobility phase coming!

Yes, I painted my little girl’s room BLUE, I love it!  It’s a soft greyish aqua/blue from Benjamin Moore- Palladian Blue.  I love that it is the perfect backdrop for the colorful bright decor, I wanted her room to be fun and playful, I think I got what I wanted.

The abacus turned out awesome, all those HOURS of work paid off.   don’t know if you can tell but her crib has a drop gate, I think it is a genius idea.

I got the rug at TJ Maxx and the pinks and purples and greens look great in here.

I finished the bookshelf the day before she was born, I’m so excited to read all the books to her.

The wall collage is of all of our families, one of the frames fell (you can see the blank spot)  it is a cool aqua colored scrolly frame.

Here is the result… you can decide if she likes her milk from a bottle :)

(notice that she is wearing a different outfit from when my mom was feeding her and the spit up picture- ya this was the second outfit!  As well as 3 burpcloths, a blanket and my shirt, and we weren’t even halfway through the day, we do laundry by the ton now!)
